Fourth International Conference on Bantu Languages - CANCELLED
Date: 22-26 March 2010
Venue: Lancaster University
We regret to announce that due to the very low number of abstracts submitted, the Bantu4 Conference scheduled to take place at Lancaster 22nd -26th March this year is being cancelled. The option of running a curtailed one-day conference programme was considered, but did not in the end turn out to be a viable alternative. The main problem was that many potential participants lacked funding and wouldn't be able to get to Lancaster anyway. And as the organizers' bids to obtain conference grants from research funding bodies to subsidize participants had proved unsuccessful, there was no way out of this impasse.
The organizing committee deeply regret this unfortunate situation and sincerely hope that later conferences will gather more participants. Thank you for your interest in Bantu4. We hope to meet again!
