Working paper series(Editor: Ruth Wodak)
Please note that Centre for Language in Social Life is no longer active but the website remains available as an archive.
CLSL publishes an average four working papers a year. These provide an opportunity for researchers in the area of Language in Social Life to make their recent work freely available to the rest of the research community. By making these papers available for download via the Internet, we hope to encourage discussion and debate, stimulate research, and help the authors to obtain constructive feedback. CLSL Working Papers reflect work in progress and may consist of work being prepared for publication in a journal or book. It is therefore not reasonable that they should be subject to the very rigorous process of peer review. Nevertheless, the CLSL Working Papers series aims to publish only papers which meet a high academic standard. Papers which are proposed by a CLSL member will be reviewed by two other members. Guidelines for SubmissionsContributions are invited in any of the areas of interest of CLSL and its members. Working papers are preferred in the range of ca. [words], and should ideally be submitted as Word documents. We ask authors to use Times New Roman for the main text and Times New Roman Phonetic font for phonetic characters. Where unusual or non-Roman fonts are required you are advised to discuss this with the Editor. Contributions should follow standard academic conventions for referencing and citations. CopyrightIf accepted papers will be posted on the Web as downloadable documents in .pdf format. By submitting their papers to the Series contributors consent to have their papers made available in this way. Copyright remains with the authors and a notice to this effect, warning against unauthorised copying, will be included in each paper. CLSL cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised use of papers in the series. Contributors who intend to publish the same work in a journal or elsewhere are advised that pre-publication in the form of a working paper will not jeopardise later publication. Authors of CLSL working papers retain copyright and will therefore be free to assign their rights to other publishers at a later stage. Current titles and backlistThis list includes the first 100 papers in the working paper series. Some of these are available as downloadable files; please check in the backlist and contact the author of the paper directly if a downloadable version is not listed there. We regret that back issues are no longer available by mail order. Many of them may be available in university libraries, or on inter-library loan.
