The ENLTA Project (European Network for Language Testing and Assessment)

Project partners: 14 institutions in 13 European countries

Funding: The European Commission

Funded until December 2005, the project is intended to establish a network of individuals involved in language testing and assessment in Europe. The Project involves 14 partner institutions in 13 European countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Among other activities the project is investigating the training needs of such individuals, and surveying assessment policy and practice in Europe. The Project has already led to the establishment of the European Association for Language Testing and Assessment and current activities include the development and piloting of training materials for a range of stakeholders in language testing.
