I have taught a wide range of courses at Lancaster at both UG and PGT levels. The following is an indicative list of the modules for which I have been responsible at both UG and PGT levels:
UG: English Language, Introduction to General Linguistics, Language Acquisition, Language and Computing, Linguistic Description, Linguistic Methodology and Syntax.
PGT: Corpus Linguistics, Language Acquisition, New Directions in Language Analysis, Research Issues in Applied Linguistics.
I can confidently state, on the basis of peer, TQA inspector and student assessment of my lecturing and seminar teaching, that I am an excellent teacher. This reputation for excellence is not simply acknowledged at Lancaster: I have been invited to teach my research specialisms world-wide (including in Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Finland, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Norway) to postgraduates and academic staff.
I currently supervise 2 full time and 5 part time PhD students. To date, 8 of my PhD supervisees have been granted the degree of PhD. I have supervised 22 MA students at Lancaster since becoming a member of staff here.
