What we provide
Programmes
We offer a range of programmes, suited to a variety of needs:
- MA TEFL (Campus-based): for those with less than two years of teaching experience
- MA TESOL (Campus-based): for those with two or more years of teaching experience
- MA TESOL (Web-based): for those with two of more years of teaching experience
- MA in Language Testing (Web-based): for assessment specialists
- PhD studies: a wide choice of study modes
Comprehensive study support
Our Postgraduate Academic Study Skills module provides you with English for Academic Purposes and Study Skills support during your studies, and the Research Methods in Linguistics and English Language module introduces you to the research skills needed for your assignments and dissertation. You are also assigned to an Academic Advisor who helps you settle in and keeps an eye on your progress throughout the year. And if you don't already meet our English language entry requirements, it is possible to take our pre-sessional EAP programme instead.
Research groups
Our department is a vibrant research community, and MA students have access to our Second Language Learning and Pedagogy Research Group and many others.
